The Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP and Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, has secured a majority in over 25 municipal corporations.

In the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the richest and most prestigious in the country, the BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde) coalition achieved a clear majority by winning 118 out of 227 seats. This marks the end of the Shiv Sena's dominance that lasted for more than three decades. The alliance of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT), Raj Thackeray's MNS, and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP) managed to secure around 71-72 seats.
