A large crowd gathered to honor the young athlete for his exceptional performance on the international stage. This victory is being celebrated as a significant milestone for Rajouri and the entire Jammu and Kashmir region, with many viewing Yasser as a role model for aspiring athletes in the Union Territory.

Yasser's Gratitude and Aspirations

In an interview, Mohammad Yasser expressed his heartfelt thanks for the support he received, emphasizing his desire for continued encouragement for both himself and his coach. He stated, "I am very thankful to the people for supporting me. I hope you keep supporting my coach and me so that I can keep winning medals for Jammu and Kashmir and India."

Coach's Reflections on Boxing's Growing Popularity

Coach Ishtiyaq Malik also expressed his gratitude for the community's support for Yasser. He noted that boxing had previously not garnered much attention in the region, but Yasser's success has sparked a newfound interest in the sport. Malik remarked, "I would like to thank all the people who have shown so much love to Yasser; thank you very much for that. Before this, I had no idea that the youth were so passionate, especially about a particular sport. We have very good athletes and cricketers here, but no one had ever heard the name of boxing before today."

Exceptional Welcome and Community Pride

Malik highlighted the extraordinary welcome Yasser received, stating that the pride felt by the Pir Panjal region is immense. He added, "I'd say that even an Olympic medalist doesn't get such a welcome as was done for Yasser. All these people are connected with Yasser's national medal, and everyone is happy that a child from the Pir Panjal area has risen and made us proud on an international platform."

Impact of Khelo India Initiative

Malik praised the Khelo India initiative for its crucial role in connecting Yasser with his coach and providing essential support for his development, including equipment, guidance, and counseling that enhanced his physical strength and performance. He stated, "The important role has been played by the Khelo India scheme. Yasser and I met through Khelo India, and after that, the officials, people, and officers all provided kits to us through Khelo India. Yasser received continuous counseling, due to which he became physically strong."
