Historic Flight Marks New Era for Farmers in Uttar Pradesh

Today, a significant milestone in the development of Uttar Pradesh was etched into history as farmers from Jewar, who had previously dedicated their ancestral lands for the construction of the Noida International Airport, boarded the inaugural passenger flight to Lucknow. This journey symbolized not just a flight, but the farmers' sacrifices, their trust, the government's visionary approach, and a vibrant representation of a transforming Uttar Pradesh.

Commercial flight services officially commenced today from the Noida International Airport. The first flight arrived from Lucknow to Jewar, and shortly after, the inaugural flight departed for Lucknow. Onboard this historic flight were 172 villagers and farmers from the Jewar area, whose lands were acquired for the airport's initial phase. The pride and emotion were evident on the faces of these villagers and women, holding their boarding passes. Hands that once tilled the fields now held passes for air travel.

This scene represented not only development but also trust. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the project has become a new gateway for progress across Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister personally engaged with the farmers, stating that today is historic, attributing this achievement to the inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the farmers' sacrifices. He recalled that when the state cabinet approved the airport's construction in Jewar, he set a deadline for officials to initiate the land acquisition process within a hundred days. After initial delays, the Chief Minister convened meetings to expedite the process, winning the farmers' trust and bringing this ambitious project to fruition.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's approach is giving Uttar Pradesh a fresh identity. His foresight has not only established Jewar as an airport but has also laid a strong foundation for Western Uttar Pradesh to emerge as an economic, industrial, and commercial hub. The Delhi NCR region is now among the select global metropolises with multiple operational airports, opening new avenues for employment, investment, tourism, and trade.

Local MLA Dheerendra Singh has played a crucial role in this transformation. He acted as a vital link between the farmers and the administration on sensitive issues like land acquisition. His assistance in resolving numerous land-related disputes proved decisive. He consistently visited villages to communicate with farmers, addressing their concerns and involving them in this developmental journey. This is why today, farmers proudly regard this project as their own achievement.

Leading a delegation of farmers who reached Lucknow, MLA Dheerendra Singh remarked that this day deserves a place in the annals of history. He noted that the farmers who dedicated their land for the nation's and state's bright future are now participants in this journey of development. Many farmers described this moment as the pinnacle of their lives. One farmer mentioned that he had given thirty bighas of land for the airport and now feels proud witnessing the ongoing development in the area. Female passengers expressed that being part of the first flight is a matter of honor and pride for the entire Jewar region. Farmers like Abrar Khan described it as the realization of their dreams.

On the occasion of the flight service launch, Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu stated that what once seemed impossible has been realized under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He emphasized that the Noida International Airport will not just serve as a transport hub but will evolve into an economic zone where industries, commerce, and modern facilities will flourish.

For the local villagers and farmers, this flight was not merely a journey to Lucknow; it represented a leap from their villages to a global stage.
