Himalyan Public Senior Secondary School celebrated the beginning of the new academic year with an exciting welcome event titled ‘Aaghaz’. The atmosphere was filled with joy and enthusiasm as teachers, senior students, and school officials warmly welcomed the newcomers.
The event kicked off with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, led by Director Mr. Anurag Gupta, Principal Mrs. Sapna Dogra, Vice Principal Mrs. Reema, and other faculty members. Senior students greeted the freshers with traditional tilak, encouraging them to embark on their educational journey with confidence and commitment.
The cultural program featured melodious songs, energetic garba dances, and lively performances of popular tracks such as “Makna” and “Kar Har Maidan Fateh”. Students from Classes XI and XII displayed their talents through music, dance, and thematic presentations, while engaging games and activities contributed to the festive atmosphere.
A communal lunch fostered connections among teachers and students, enhancing the sense of community. The highlight of the event was the Mr. & Miss Fresher Contest, judged by Mrs. Vani Jamwal and Mrs. Jyoti Malhotra. Akshara was crowned Miss Fresher and Armaan Mr. Fresher, both recognized for their confidence, creativity, and intelligence.
In his concluding remarks, Director Mr. Gupta highlighted that the school serves not just as an educational institution but as a platform for comprehensive development. He urged students to adopt discipline, hard work, and a positive mindset as their guiding principles.
The ‘Aaghaz’ celebration instilled a profound sense of belonging and excitement in the new students, marking a hopeful beginning to their journey at Himalyan Public School.
