New Fare Discount Regulations Announced

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has introduced a significant update regarding fare concessions for bus travelers. Effective immediately, passengers must possess a valid Him Bus Card to qualify for any fare discounts.

Students' Application Deadline

Students enrolled in Classes 1 through 12 have until May 31, 2026 to submit their applications for the Him Bus Card. After this date, no fare concessions will be available without the card.

Women's Fare Concessions

Women currently enjoying a 50% fare discount will also need to present the Him Bus Card to continue benefiting from reduced fares.

Discontinuation of Previous Card System

The previous Green Card and Yellow Card systems have been eliminated. Moving forward, only the Him Bus Card will be accepted for all concession categories.

Focus on Digital Efficiency

HRTC officials state that this change aims to enhance the digital, transparent, and efficient nature of bus services. Passengers are encouraged to apply for their Him Bus Card promptly to avoid paying full fares in the future.
