In Himachal Pradesh, educators organized protests today under the banner of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), advocating for the reinstatement of overdue promotions linked to the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). Demonstrations took place at prominent institutions including Himachal Pradesh University (Shimla), Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University (Palampur), and Sardar Patel University (Mandi).
At HP University, Shimla, faculty members called on the government to promptly restore CAS promotions, labeling the ongoing delay as unjust. Key speakers such as Dr. Ashok Bansal, Dr. Shashikant, Dr. Sanjay, and Dr. Surender cautioned that failure to address the issue swiftly could lead to heightened protests throughout the state.
At the Agricultural University, Palampur, educators rallied under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Sharma (President, Teachers’ Association), alongside Dr. Dinesh Karofa and Prof. Janardan Singh (JAC President), who fervently advocated for the immediate restoration of CAS promotions.
In a similar vein, at Sardar Patel University, Mandi, teachers, led by Dr. Sunil, protested for the reinstatement of their promotions.
The Joint Action Committee has issued a warning that if the government does not take swift action, the movement will escalate into a statewide agitation. Educators expressed that any further delays in restoring CAS would lead to widespread protests across Himachal Pradesh.
