Significant Drug Seizures by Nurpur Police

In a remarkable effort under the Himachal Pradesh Government’s initiative for a ‘Drug-Free Himachal’, the Nurpur Police made significant strides, executing four successful operations within a single day. They seized substantial amounts of charas, chitta (heroin), and ₹1 lakh in cash, leading to the arrest of seven individuals and the confiscation of several vehicles.


Highlights of the Operations:



  1. Kandwal Checkpost: Authorities stopped a Creta vehicle (HP-25C-6008), uncovering 1.256 kg of charas and ₹1,00,000 in cash. The suspect, Ram Kumar (52), from Kumarasain, Shimla, was taken into custody. A case has been filed under Sections 20 and 25 of the NDPS Act.

  2. CIA Nurpur: Following a tip-off, police conducted a raid near Samal village (Indora) and apprehended Naresh Kumar (37) with 11.87 g of chitta. Legal action has been initiated under Section 21 of the NDPS Act.

  3. Indora Police Station: During a checkpoint near Changraḍa, officers discovered 10 g of chitta in an Alto vehicle (HP-38G-3964). Two individuals, Kamaldeep alias Timmy (39) and Jitendra Singh (32), were arrested, with Kamaldeep being linked to interstate drug trafficking.

  4. Fatehpur Police Station: At the 52 Gate toll barrier, police seized 6.34 g of chitta from three motorcyclists—Happy, Nitish Chaudhary, and Neeraj Kumar alias Cobra. Cases have been registered under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, with Neeraj having a history of multiple offenses and ongoing PIT NDPS proceedings.
