During a recent gathering at Radha Krishna Temple in Gaggal, Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania reassured families and business owners affected by the Kangra Airport expansion that the Himachal Pradesh government is dedicated to providing equitable compensation.


Pathania engaged with local shopkeepers, small business owners, and residents impacted by the project, stressing the importance of support from both the state and central governments to ensure fair compensation for those affected.


He noted that the Congress-led Himachal government is pioneering in offering compensation even to individuals lacking land titles. He commended Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for his compassionate stance, recalling Sukhu’s commitment that 'no displaced person will be left in tears.' Recently, the Chief Minister unveiled a compensation package totaling ₹16.8 crore for traders operating on government land in Gaggal Bazaar, alongside relief initiatives for families living on government property.


Pathania pledged to continue advocating for the community's needs with the state government to secure the best possible relief. The meeting also saw participation from SDM Kangra Anjali Garg, SDM Shahpur Ganesh Thakur, local panchayat members, and representatives from the community.
