The 20th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association took place on December 20, 2025, at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
Chaired by vice-president Amitabh Sharma, the meeting focused on cricket development and financial strategies for the upcoming years.
Members engaged in thorough discussions aimed at enhancing cricket's presence throughout Himachal Pradesh and improving the state team's performance on a national scale. There was a strong emphasis on implementing structured development programs to foster the sport's growth in the region.
The AGM resulted in the election of new office-bearers for a three-year term, with Vijay Kumar taking on the role of vice-president, Manuj as secretary, and Vishal Sharma as joint secretary.
Shivendra Singh, Dr. RS Rana, and Shailendra Singh were appointed as apex council members, as stated by the HPCA.
A significant resolution passed during the AGM was the decision to host a grand ceremony celebrating 25 years of the HPCA, recognizing the impactful leadership of former BCCI president Anurag Thakur. Members unanimously acknowledged that under his guidance, cricket in Himachal Pradesh gained both national and international acclaim.
The AGM also expressed appreciation for the organizing committee's efforts in successfully hosting the India vs South Africa T20 international match at the Dharamshala stadium, along with gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India for scheduling major fixtures at the venue.
Special recognition was given to the HPCA women's team and support staff following the selection of two players from Himachal Pradesh for the Women’s Premier League (WPL), marking a significant achievement for women's cricket in the state.
Notable attendees included outgoing secretary Avnish Parmar, former secretary Sumeet Sharma, and various other members who contributed to the meeting's discussions.
The members paid heartfelt tributes to Anurag Thakur for his remarkable contributions over the past 25 years, with the assembly applauding his role in elevating cricket in Himachal Pradesh to international standards.
A resolution was also passed recognizing that the state's global cricket recognition is largely attributed to his leadership.
Avnish Parmar was honored with a traditional shawl, cap, and bouquet in recognition of his dedicated service during his tenure.
