On June 11, 2026, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, graced the traditional Chinj Mela, hosted by the Sihunta Mela Committee in the Gram Panchayat Sihunta of the Bhatiyat Assembly constituency, as the chief guest.


During the event, he recognized the achievements of Navish Kumar (Navu), a local from Gram Panchayat Khargat, who secured a gold medal in wrestling at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026. Pathania presented him with a cash reward of ₹51,000, wishing him continued success in his athletic pursuits.


In his speech, the Speaker highlighted the significance of melas, festivals, and fairs as vital components of Himachal Pradesh's rich cultural heritage. He noted that such gatherings not only offer entertainment but also foster social unity, brotherhood, cooperation, and the preservation of cultural values.
