The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony at Government Post Graduate College, Chuwari, was marked by great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, honored students excelling in various fields, including academics, sports, and cultural activities. The event showcased lively cultural performances by the college students.
Commitment to Educational Excellence
During his address to students, parents, and community members, Speaker Pathania emphasized the state government's dedication to enhancing educational standards. He discussed ongoing reforms in governance, curriculum development, and institutional accountability aimed at making education more transparent and focused on student outcomes. He pointed out that rural and remote regions are experiencing significant improvements in access to quality higher education.
Progress in Bhatiyat Constituency
Pathania expressed pride in the accomplishments of Chuwari College and commended the administration for its advancements. He noted that despite the area's challenging geography, the Bhatiyat constituency has made notable progress in development compared to other regions. Educated youth from this locality are achieving success both nationally and internationally.
New Developments Announced
He announced plans for the construction of a mini sports stadium in Chuwari, expected to be completed within a year. Additionally, he revealed that nearly ₹300 crore worth of development projects are currently in progress in the constituency, facilitated by the Public Works and Jal Shakti departments.
Launch of Global Skills & Digital University
In a significant announcement, Pathania shared that the state government has sanctioned the establishment of a Global Skills and Digital University in Mauhal Chalera, located in the Sihunta Tehsil of the Bhatiyat constituency. This university aims to enhance skill-based, vocational, and industry-oriented education, thereby improving youth employability, fostering entrepreneurship, and encouraging innovation. The institution is designed to bridge the gap between education and employment while promoting sustainable development.
Inauguration of Girls’ Common Room
The Speaker also inaugurated a newly constructed Girls’ Common Room at Chuwari College, which was built at a cost of ₹7 lakh. This facility includes modern amenities such as seating arrangements, a television, an RO water purifier, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven.
Recognition of Achievements
Earlier, Principal Dr. Sanjay Singh Pathania presented the college’s annual report, which highlighted the institution's academic, sports, and cultural achievements, along with ongoing development initiatives. The Speaker announced financial support of ₹31,000 for cultural programs and ₹11,000 for the college's talented singer, Karan.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including former Block Congress Committee President Vijay Kanwar, former Vice Chairman of Chuwari Nagar Panchayat Surender Chadak, Wool Federation Director Ajay Singh, SDM Bhatiyat Manish Soni, Executive Engineer Narendra Chaudhary, officials from Jal Shakti and HPSEBL, BDO Anil Gurada, local college principals, PTA President Satpal, parents, and numerous residents.
