In response to severe rainfall, Himachal Pradesh's Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh has announced a financial aid package for the most affected assembly constituencies. Each constituency will receive ₹2 crore, with an additional ₹50 lakh for infrastructure repairs statewide. The Mandi district has faced the brunt of the disasters, leading to significant losses and tragic fatalities. Since the monsoon began, the state has reported numerous incidents of cloudbursts and landslides, resulting in over 90 deaths. This initiative aims to support recovery efforts and restore essential services in the region.

Financial Aid for Disaster Relief in Himachal Pradesh

Vikramaditya Singh, the Public Works Minister of Himachal Pradesh, has announced a financial package to assist assembly constituencies severely impacted by rainfall. Each affected constituency will receive ₹2 crore, while an additional ₹50 lakh will be allocated for the repair of roads and other essential infrastructure across all assembly areas.


This announcement was made via a video shared on his Facebook page on Saturday. Himachal Pradesh comprises a total of 68 assembly constituencies, with the Mandi district being the hardest hit.


The disasters caused by the rains in Mandi have resulted in significant damage to both infrastructure and human life. Since the onset of the monsoon on June 20 until July 11, the state has incurred losses amounting to ₹751 crore.


During this period, there have been 31 incidents of cloudbursts, 22 floods, and 17 landslides reported in the region. The heavy rainfall has tragically led to the deaths of over 90 individuals, with 56 fatalities directly linked to rain-related incidents.
