High-Profile Drug Bust at Hyderabad Farmhouse Shakes Southern Politics
Police Raid Uncovers Drug Use at Party
A recent police operation at a high-profile party in a farmhouse located in Moinabad, Hyderabad, has sent shockwaves through the political landscape of Southern India. Authorities have detained six individuals, including Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Putta Mahesh Kumar and former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, on allegations of drug use, as reported by officials on Sunday.
The raid was conducted on Saturday night by the specialized task force for narcotics enforcement, known as the Eagle Force, in coordination with local police, following credible information regarding drug consumption at the farmhouse owned by Rohit Reddy.
During the event, one attendee reportedly fired three shots into the air with a revolver. A total of 11 individuals present at the party underwent immediate urine drug testing, which confirmed that five, including Rohit Shetty, had consumed narcotics, while the MP's initial test showed no evidence of drug use.
A senior officer from the Eagle Force stated that all detained individuals were taken to a hospital for further testing, which later confirmed that six, including the MP, had indeed used drugs.
Ongoing Investigation and Findings
The investigation is currently focused on determining whether the drugs were consumed on the farmhouse premises or elsewhere. Authorities have recovered two grams of narcotics from the party, which has been sent to the forensic science laboratory for analysis.
Officials are also working to trace the source of the drugs. According to a police spokesperson, the gathering included a mix of real estate professionals, businesspeople, and individuals from the political sphere, with at least one woman present.
The police have confirmed that the weapon used during the incident has been confiscated.
