During the President's recent visit to Lahaul, a uniquely crafted heritage frame has highlighted the artistic talents of local creators from Himachal Pradesh. This exceptional piece, designed and produced by Proframes, located in Bhuntar, Kullu district, merges Buddhist artistic traditions with Himachali cultural elements and traditional brass craftsmanship.

Commissioned for a significant official event by the Lahaul administration, the frame showcases a rich maroon and gold color scheme, intricate decorative details, floral patterns, and traditional auspicious symbols. Its design aims to celebrate the region's cultural heritage by blending traditional artistry with modern craftsmanship.

The frame features a distinctive border inspired by Buddhist art, meticulously designed by Proframes. The patterns, proportions, colors, and decorative elements were carefully coordinated to enhance the overall aesthetic of the frame.

This design preserves the dignity and visual essence of Buddhist art while incorporating elements that reflect the cultural traditions of Himachal Pradesh, resulting in a piece that embodies both artistic detail and regional identity.

At the heart of the frame lies a handcrafted brass Buddha artwork, created by traditional artisan Reet Ram Bajoura. This artwork was specifically developed for the project in collaboration with Proframes, showcasing traditional brass craftsmanship within a contemporary heritage context.

Proframes oversaw the entire process, from concept and design development to the creation of the bespoke Buddhist border, frame construction, and final finishing touches. This collaboration exemplifies how traditional artisans' skills can be harmoniously integrated with specialized design and premium framing to produce a unique cultural artifact.

Gitesh Gupta, the owner of Proframes, expressed that this project transcended a typical framing task, serving as a platform to showcase Himachal Pradesh's cultural identity and the significance of Buddhist art during a notable official event.

He noted that the Buddhist-inspired border was specially crafted for this piece, while the central brass Buddha artwork was a collaborative effort with Reet Ram Bajoura.

Gupta regarded the presentation during the President's visit to Lahaul as a source of pride for both his enterprise and the Bhuntar region, where the work was conceived and executed.

He further emphasized Proframes' mission to merge Himachal's traditional art forms, local artisans' skills, and modern design techniques to create distinctive works that can gain recognition beyond the state.

Gupta highlighted the importance of taking Himachal Pradesh's artistic traditions and craftsmanship beyond local markets. By fusing traditional skills with contemporary design and high-quality presentation, local businesses can create products that convey the state's cultural richness to audiences both nationally and internationally.

Proframes specializes in custom framing, heritage frames, Buddhist art-inspired frames, handcrafted brass artwork, deep framing, archival and fine-art printing, as well as premium presentation pieces for institutions and special occasions.

This project exemplifies the potential for collaboration between creative enterprises and traditional artisans, particularly in a state where cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship are integral to its identity.

For Bhuntar and the broader Kullu region, this work serves as a testament to local creative talent contributing to a high-profile official event. It also highlights the potential for Himachal's artisans and design-focused businesses to reach wider audiences by combining indigenous craftsmanship with thoughtful design and professional execution.
