Monsoon Activity Intensifies in Rajasthan

Jaipur, July 29 – A warning for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall has been issued for various regions in Rajasthan due to the active southwest monsoon. This information was shared by the meteorological department on Wednesday. According to the department, the influence of a weather system over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and the adjacent coasts of West Bengal and northern Odisha will lead to increased rainfall activities in parts of Kota, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, and Bikaner divisions starting Wednesday.

During this period, there is a likelihood of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the southeastern and eastern regions of the state. The department also indicated that the monsoon will remain active in some areas of eastern and western Rajasthan from July 30 to August 2. During this time, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected at most locations, with some areas experiencing heavy to extremely heavy downpours.

Additionally, parts of the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions in western Rajasthan are also predicted to see renewed monsoon activity from July 30 to August 2, with expectations of moderate to heavy rainfall. As of Wednesday morning, several locations reported moderate to heavy rainfall, with some areas experiencing very heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours. The highest recorded rainfall was 117 millimeters in Malpura, followed by 103 millimeters in Tonk and 101 millimeters in Jayal.
