Heavy Rainfall Expected in Rajasthan as Monsoon Resurges
Intense Rainfall Across Rajasthan
Jaipur, August 7 - The southwest monsoon has regained strength, leading to significant rainfall in Jaipur and various towns across Rajasthan. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas in the coming days. According to the IMD's Jaipur center, on Friday, Alwar recorded 19.4 millimeters of rain, while Jaipur and Dausa saw 4.0 millimeters, and Sangaria received 3.5 millimeters.
Additionally, light to moderate rainfall was reported in other regions, including Churu, Pilani, and Dungarpur. In Jaipur, intermittent rain has been ongoing since late Thursday night. Throughout Friday, the city and its surrounding areas experienced overcast skies with sporadic showers.
This weather pattern has resulted in a drop of over two degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures. The weather department predicts that the spell of heavy rain will continue for the next few days. A spokesperson from the Jaipur weather center indicated that an upper circulation system remained active over the southwestern parts of Uttar Pradesh and nearby areas on Friday.
Furthermore, another circulation system is forming over the northwestern Bay of Bengal, which is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. Currently, the monsoon 'trough line' is passing through Sri Ganganagar and Delhi. The weather center anticipates that the monsoon will remain active across most parts of eastern Rajasthan for the upcoming week, with continued rainfall activities.
The weather center has also indicated that from August 8 to 10, moderate to heavy rainfall could occur in parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions. During this period, some eastern areas may experience extremely heavy rainfall. Additionally, the weather center forecasts an increase in rainfall activities in parts of western Rajasthan, particularly in Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, from August 8 to 10.
However, it is expected that from August 15, rainfall activities will decrease across most regions of the state.
