Residents of Bengaluru are currently grappling with persistent rainfall, and forecasts indicate that relief is not on the horizon. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the city can expect strong winds in the next 48 hours, accompanied by moderate to heavy rainfall.


Weather Conditions Ahead

Overcast skies are anticipated in Bengaluru, with wind speeds ranging from 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover around 27 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures may drop to 20 degrees Celsius. The weather department predicts that on May 21, urban and rural areas of Bengaluru, along with Tumakuru district, may experience strong winds and moderate rainfall, with thunderstorms also a possibility. This weather pattern is likely to persist until May 22, with light to moderate rain continuing in the city.


Heavy Rain Forecast for Karnataka

In addition to Bengaluru, several districts across Karnataka are expected to face heavy rainfall over the next two days. On May 21, areas in Shivamogga and Chikmagalur districts may witness significant downpours, with wind speeds reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Some locations could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, while light to moderate rain is also likely in many areas.

Districts such as Ballari, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, and Vijayanagara are expected to experience light to moderate rain accompanied by strong winds on May 21.
