School Holidays Announced Due to Rain Predictions

In light of the forecast for significant rainfall in the coming days, several districts in Rajasthan have declared school holidays on July 28-29. District collectors from Baran, Anta, Banswara, Kota, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Tonk, and Chittorgarh have issued orders for these closures.


Recent Rainfall Observations

According to the meteorological department, widespread rainfall was recorded on Sunday in areas including Pali, Ajmer, Tonk, and Baran. A spokesperson from the Jaipur meteorological center reported that a depression over Madhya Pradesh weakened and transformed into a clear low-pressure area on Sunday. As a result, heavy to very heavy rainfall was observed in parts of Kota, Udaipur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Jodhpur divisions over the past 24 hours.


Rainfall Statistics

The highest rainfall recorded was 136 mm in Kushalgarh, Banswara. The department noted that light to moderate rainfall was observed in several areas, including Pali, Chittorgarh, and Baran, while heavy rainfall for nearly two hours caused flooding on roads in the Sadri area of Pali.


Future Rainfall Predictions

The department has forecasted the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Jaipur divisions on Sunday, with some areas expecting extremely heavy rainfall. On Monday, July 28, heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions, with similar conditions expected in parts of Jaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur.
