Weather Update for Delhi-NCR

On Tuesday, significant rainfall occurred across Noida and various regions of Delhi-NCR, providing much-needed relief from the intense heat and humidity experienced in recent days. The downpour, accompanied by strong winds, led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, making the weather more pleasant in the national capital and its neighboring areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted cloudy skies and light to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning, just a day before the rainfall took place.

Weather Alerts Issued

The weather department also issued a 'Yellow Alert' for the national capital on Tuesday, warning residents about the changing weather conditions and advising them to plan their travel based on the latest forecasts. According to the IMD, rainfall is expected to continue in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh from July 7 to July 11, with the heaviest rainfall anticipated on July 7 and July 9.

The IMD forecasts that the maximum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday will range between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be between 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. The department also indicated that there would be no significant changes in the maximum temperature over the next seven days. The minimum temperature is expected to remain stable for the next two days, followed by a decrease of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius over the next three days before rising again.

Previous Weather Predictions

On Monday, the weather did not align with expectations, resulting in widespread rainfall. Although the IMD had forecasted heavy rain for Delhi-NCR, most areas in the national capital only experienced light drizzles throughout the day, despite the persistent cloud cover. Recently, humidity has been a significant concern for residents of Delhi.
