Noelia Castillo was a young woman from Barcelona who faced immense suffering throughout her life. She was a victim of three separate sexual assaults, the first perpetrated by a boyfriend she had been with for four years. The second incident occurred at a nightclub, where two men attempted to assault her. The final and most traumatic event was a gang rape at an entertainment venue, which left her deeply traumatized. Following this, she attempted suicide by jumping from a fifth-floor window, an act witnessed by her father, Geronimo. Although she survived, the fall resulted in her being paralyzed from the waist down. To date, none of her alleged attackers have been publicly identified.
