Health Minister Criticizes West Bengal Government for Healthcare Failures
Allegations Against West Bengal's Healthcare System
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has accused the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal of failing to provide essential healthcare services. He stated that the poor and vulnerable populations have been deprived of life-saving medical care due to their exclusion from the Ayushman Bharat scheme and ineffective implementation of welfare programs. Speaking at a doctors' conference in Tangra, Nadda praised the revolutionary healthcare initiatives launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Concerns Over Healthcare Progress
In an official statement released on Thursday, Nadda pointed out that despite significant national advancements in health indicators, West Bengal remains underdeveloped due to the lack of access to the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the poor execution of welfare initiatives. He emphasized that political obstacles imposed by the state government have left the disadvantaged groups without the benefits of crucial healthcare services.
Call for Change in Governance
Nadda expressed confidence that the people of Bengal would reject this misgovernance and pave the way for a development-oriented administration. The event saw the presence of several notable figures, including Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Dr. Sharda Mukhopadhyay, and various doctors and party workers. At the Altair Boutique Hotel in Bidhannagar, Nadda held discussions with district presidents, departmental coordinators, and migrant workers, stating that under TMC's rule, Bengal has become a safe haven for infiltrators.
Anticipation for Upcoming Elections
The statement concluded by asserting that Bengal will no longer be misled, and in the upcoming assembly elections, the public will teach Mamata Banerjee and TMC a lesson, leading to the establishment of a nationalist and development-focused BJP government in West Bengal.
