Patna, August 11: Over 165 individuals fell ill after partaking in prasad following a Satyanarayan Puja held in Hiyadatpur village, located in the Amni Panchayat area of Khagaria district, Bihar.

The situation escalated as numerous villagers reported health issues simultaneously, leading families to rush the affected to Khagaria Sadar Hospital.

Patients continued to arrive at the medical facility well into the night.

Initial reports indicate that the puja took place at the home of Subodh Chaudhary, son of Mayaram Chaudhary, around 7 p.m. on Monday.

After the ceremony, prasad was distributed to attendees, with estimates suggesting that over 250 people consumed it.

Shortly after eating, many began to show signs of illness.

Children experienced vomiting and diarrhea, while adults reported dizziness, weakness, and restlessness.

As the number of sick individuals grew, anxiety spread throughout the village.
