Resolution of the SYL Issue in Sight

On Wednesday, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed confidence that the Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) dispute will soon be resolved. He noted that the Punjab government has also acknowledged the necessity of addressing this issue.


Saini made these remarks following a high-level meeting convened by Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, to discuss the SYL matter. The Chief Minister mentioned that the meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, with meaningful discussions, which included Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.


According to a statement from the state government, it was decided that the next meeting would take place on August 5. After the meeting, CM Saini told the media that substantial discussions had occurred, and he emphasized that the Punjab Chief Minister also recognized the need to resolve this long-standing issue.
