Saini also introduced initiatives to promote yoga education and research, including the 'Yoga Writer Incentive Scheme' and new yoga courses in colleges. Yoga: More Than Just Exercise

On Saturday, Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, emphasized that yoga transcends mere physical exercise; it is an art of living that should be integrated into daily life.


During a state-level event held at Brahmasarovar to commemorate International Yoga Day, the Chief Minister announced the initiation of a five-minute yoga break program in all government offices. This session was led by renowned yoga guru Ramdev.


New Initiatives for Yoga in Haryana

The event was attended by Haryana's Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, State AYUSH and Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao, and MP Naveen Jindal. Chief Minister Saini revealed plans to establish 100 new yoga centers and gyms across the state.


He noted that the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations in Haryana commenced on May 27, with various programs taking place statewide. This year's theme for Yoga Day is 'Yoga for One World, One Health,' dedicated to the welfare of humanity.


Promoting Yoga Education and Research

Saini remarked, 'Yoga is not just a workout; it is a vital science for living a healthy life.' He also announced the launch of the 'Yoga Writer Incentive Scheme' to encourage research on yoga, which will honor outstanding authors annually.


Furthermore, yoga courses will be introduced in colleges and universities across the state, and 40 yoga instructors will be appointed in Haryana's sports department. An auditorium will also be constructed for an international meditation center at Shri Krishna AYUSH University.
