In a significant move, Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has set up a high-level committee to probe alleged irregularities in the labor department. This comes after Labor Minister Anil Vij raised concerns about serious discrepancies in work slips linked to the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Preliminary findings suggest a potential scam worth around ₹1,500 crores. The committee, led by IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal, is expected to deliver its findings within a month, following Vij's recommendation for a thorough investigation by a credible agency.

Formation of Investigation Committee

The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, has established a high-level committee on Thursday to investigate alleged irregularities in the verification of work slips and the registration of laborers within the labor department.

According to an official announcement, the committee will be led by IAS officer Pankaj Agarwal, with IAS officer Rajiv Ratan and IPS officer Pankaj Nain serving as members.

This committee is tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and is expected to submit its report to the government within a month. This development follows recent allegations made by Haryana's Labor Minister Anil Vij, who claimed that serious irregularities related to work slips have been prevalent in the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for an extended period.

Preliminary investigations have suggested that the potential scam could amount to approximately ₹1,500 crores. Vij had previously written to Chief Minister Saini recommending a detailed inquiry by a reputable investigative agency.
