Haryana CET Exam Concludes Successfully Amid Tight Security
Successful Completion of CET in Haryana
On Sunday, the Common Eligibility Test (CET) was successfully conducted in Haryana under strict security measures, marking its second day. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini remarked that everyone collaborated effectively as a team to ensure the smooth execution of the exams.
The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) organized the CET for recruitment to 'Group C' positions. The examination took place in both morning and afternoon sessions, having started on Saturday.
Over 1.3 million candidates participated in the exam, with more than 670,000 attending on Sunday alone, resulting in an impressive attendance rate exceeding 90%. Examination centers were established across all 22 districts of Haryana and in Chandigarh, with adequate arrangements in place.
To facilitate candidates' travel to the exam centers, the Haryana Transport Department arranged special bus services. HSSC Chairman Himmat Singh visited Rohtak to review the arrangements and confirmed that the exams were conducted smoothly.
Officials reported that candidates were allowed entry into the exam centers only after thorough checks. Earlier in the day, Saini assured reporters in Panchkula that all necessary measures were in place to prevent any inconvenience to candidates. When asked about any issues faced by the government in conducting the exams, he stated, 'When everyone works as a team, challenges become smaller.'
Meanwhile, a differently-abled candidate from Kaithal expressed gratitude for the transportation arrangements made by the government for individuals like him. Additionally, a female candidate heading to the exam in Karnal sustained minor injuries but received first aid and was later dropped off at the center by officials.
On Saturday, more than 670,000 candidates had also participated in the CET. A prohibition order was enforced within a 500-meter radius of all exam centers under Section 163 of the Indian National Security Code (BNSS), 2023, which grants the authority to issue orders in cases of disturbances or imminent threats.
