Although the Indian women's cricket team could not attend the ceremony in person, they celebrated Kaur's achievement from England, where they are currently training for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.
A video shared by the BCCI Women on X (formerly Twitter) showcased the team joyfully watching their captain receive the Padma Shri. As Kaur approached President Murmu to accept the honor, her teammates cheered enthusiastically.
Following the ceremony, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana connected with Kaur via video call, allowing the team to share in the pride of this significant milestone.
Upcoming T20I Series Against England
In preparation for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, Kaur's team will engage in a three-match T20I series against England, scheduled for May 28, May 30, and June 2, 2026, at venues in Chelmsford, Bristol, and Taunton.
Additionally, India will participate in two warm-up matches against the West Indies on June 8 and the host nation England on June 10, both taking place at The County Ground in Derby.
