Specialized Training for Young Off-Spinners

The BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru recently hosted a specialized training camp aimed at nurturing India's upcoming off-spinners. Led by the renowned spinner Harbhajan Singh, this initiative took place on Thursday and was designed to enhance the participants' technical skills, mental resilience, and physical fitness.


According to a post by the BCCI on X, 'One of India's greatest spinners, Mr. Harbhajan Singh, engaged with the off-spinners from the High-Performance monitoring group and the Emerging Off-Spinners at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.' The sessions provided valuable insights into technical knowledge and tactical strategies, allowing participants to learn from Harbhajan's extensive experience through simulated scenarios.


A Glimpse into Harbhajan Singh's Career

Harbhajan Singh boasts an impressive cricketing career, having played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is for India. He has taken 294 wickets in limited-overs formats. His last Test match was against Sri Lanka in 2015, and he also played his final ODI against South Africa that same year. His last appearance for India was in a T20I against the UAE during the 2016 Asia Cup. Harbhajan concluded his career with 417 Test wickets at an average of 32.46, and he is celebrated as the first Indian to achieve a Test hat-trick, in addition to being a winner of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup.
