On Friday, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh expressed his approval of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's decision to end his hunger strike. He emphasized that fostering dialogue and building trust are superior to experiencing deadlock and division. In a post shared on X, Harbhajan remarked that every student striving for improved education is also envisioning a more robust India. He stated, "Pleased to see @Wangchuk66 Ji conclude his fast. Dialogue over deadlock and trust over division is always the better path. Every student dreaming of a better education is dreaming of a stronger India."

Call for Empathy and Collaboration

Harbhajan urged individuals to engage with empathy, participate in discussions, and collaborate to discover enduring solutions. He added, "Let us listen with empathy, engage through dialogue, and work together toward lasting solutions. Our youth deserve nothing less."

CJP's Meeting with Union Ministers

In a related development, representatives from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) met with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh for nearly two hours. They reported that the government requested until Saturday afternoon to consider their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

CJP National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka mentioned that the government had shown preliminary approval for two additional requests: compensation for families of NEET aspirants who tragically took their own lives and the withdrawal of FIRs and legal actions against protesting students.

Further Discussions Scheduled

JP Nadda confirmed that another meeting with CJP representatives would take place on Saturday after the government completes its internal discussions regarding the demands and reform proposals put forth by the group.

These developments follow Sonam Wangchuk's conclusion of a 26-day hunger strike, which ended after he received a written commitment from the Union government concerning reforms in the competitive examination system.
