Hamirpur District Achieves Top Rank in National PARAKH Survey 2024

Hamirpur's Academic Excellence Shines

Hamirpur: Renowned for its educational achievements, Hamirpur district has proudly secured the top position in Himachal Pradesh in the National PARAKH Survey 2024, which was conducted as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The results were made public on June 25.

In a significant advancement on the national stage, Himachal Pradesh has notably improved its ranking, climbing from 21st to now being recognized among the top five states in India.

The survey evaluated learning outcomes across different educational levels. A total of 2,230 students from 106 schools in Hamirpur participated, representing Classes 3, 6, and 9. To facilitate the survey's execution, the state Education Department assigned 106 trained Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers as field investigators, who engaged directly with students in their schools.

Prior to the final assessment, the Education Department conducted three rounds of oral evaluations, which were overseen at the district level. Insights from these preliminary assessments led to the implementation of corrective measures before the final survey took place on December 4, 2024.

Students participated in standardized exams as part of the national evaluation, and their impressive performance garnered recognition for the district at the state level.

District Project Officer Paramjeet Dogra expressed his pride in this achievement, stating, “Hamirpur's top ranking in Himachal is a significant honor for the entire district. This success is a testament to the collective efforts, planning, and dedication of teachers, students, and administrative staff.”

This accomplishment highlights Hamirpur’s commitment to delivering quality education and sets a standard for other districts striving to enhance learning outcomes under the NEP framework.
