Haldia Seaport Becomes India's 41st Immigration Checkpoint

The Union Home Ministry has designated Haldia seaport in West Bengal as the 41st immigration checkpost in India. This decision, announced via a gazette notification, follows the previous designation of 34 sea and river ports as immigration points last year. The Ministry's authority for this action comes from the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. This move is expected to enhance border control and streamline immigration processes at the seaport.
