Guruvayur Temple to Launch Online Booking for Virtual Darshan

The Guruvayur Temple, located in Thrissur, Kerala, is set to initiate a trial for online darshan bookings starting August 4. A.V. Gopinath, the chairman of Guruvayur Devaswom, announced that the system will initially offer eight slots each day, implemented on Tuesdays and Thursdays as a test. The aim is to evaluate its success before expanding it to all days. Through this virtual queue, approximately 300 devotees will be allowed to have darshan in each hourly slot, with an estimated total of 2,400 devotees able to visit daily. If the system operates smoothly, devotees will have the option to book their darshan online at their convenience.

This new virtual queue feature will enable devotees to select their preferred time for darshan, making the pilgrimage experience more organized and manageable. According to A.V. Gopinath, the service will commence on August 4 and will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Devotees can book their slots through the official website of the Guruvayur Devaswom at https://guruvayurdevaswom.in. The online booking system has been established in compliance with the decisions of the Devaswom Managing Committee and directives from the Kerala High Court.

The board further explained that the virtual queue system aims to manage crowds more effectively and reduce waiting times for devotees at the temple. With the introduction of online darshan bookings, devotees will soon be able to reserve their visits to the Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple through the virtual queue system. Each online booking can accommodate six devotees, allowing 300 devotees to have darshan every hour. This initiative is expected to significantly improve crowd management and enhance the overall darshan experience for visitors.
