Chamba: The students of Guru Nanak Public School in Dalhousie made a significant impact at the TNR-Shining Star Awards 3.0, which took place in Chamba on June 8, 2025, by achieving remarkable academic success.


Their impressive results not only brought recognition to the school but also underscored the rising educational enthusiasm in the area.


The TNR-Shining Star Awards, aimed at celebrating outstanding students, saw enthusiastic participation from various schools throughout the Chamba district. Among the participants, the students from Guru Nanak Public School distinguished themselves with their exceptional performance in board examinations, earning accolades from the dignitaries and educators present.


Navdeep Bhandari, the Principal and owner of the school, praised the students, parents, and teachers for their accomplishments. The institution was established by his father, MS Bhandari. The awards ceremony took place at the historic Darbar Hall of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, which was filled with attendees.


Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania attended the event as the chief guest. While distributing the awards, he encouraged the talented students to maintain their momentum of success and strive to effect positive changes in society.


This year’s Chamba event, which had already seen significant participation in 2024, was even more grand and inspiring. Hundreds of students, parents, and educational stakeholders from the region attended the awards function.


Eligibility Criteria for Recognition


For this year’s awards in Chamba, students who achieved 80% or higher in their Class 10 and Class 12 board exams (across all boards and streams) were eligible for recognition. The awards aim to honor students not just for their academic achievements but also for their perseverance and dedication in a highly competitive landscape.


The inaugural event held in Dharamshala attracted an enthusiastic crowd of over 1,000 students, parents, teachers, and dignitaries. Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was the chief guest, honoring around 650 students who scored 85% and above in their Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
