Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's Latest Parole

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the leader of Dera Sacha Sauda, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for raping two disciples, has been granted another 40-day parole as of Sunday. He is presently incarcerated at the Sunaria Jail in Rohtak, Haryana. This follows a previous 40-day parole he received in August of last year. Since being convicted in 2017, Ram Rahim has been released from prison on 14 occasions.


Organizations such as the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee have expressed their disapproval of this latest release. After his previous paroles, he has frequently stayed at the Dera's ashram located in Baghpat.
