Titans Post Impressive Total

In their Indian Premier League encounter at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Gujarat Titans (GT) achieved a formidable score of 229/4 in 20 overs, thanks to significant contributions from captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, along with a late surge from Washington Sundar.

Strong Start by Openers

After being invited to bat by Rajasthan Royals' interim captain Yashasvi Jaiswal, who filled in for the injured Riyan Parag, the Titans quickly built momentum. Gill scored 84 runs off 44 balls, while Sudharsan added 55 runs from 36 balls. Sundar's late innings of 37 not out off 20 balls helped solidify their total, with the duo of Sundar and Rahul Tewatia hitting 21 runs in the final over bowled by Tushar Deshpande.

Gill and Sudharsan's Partnership

The opening pair of Gill and Sudharsan began aggressively, taking advantage of the powerplay. They scored 82 runs without losing a wicket by the end of the powerplay, with Sudharsan reaching his fifty in just 30 balls. Gill followed suit, marking his fifty in the 11th over, but Sudharsan was dismissed shortly after, leaving GT at 119/1.

Key Breakthroughs for Royals

Gill continued to score freely, hitting boundaries until he was dismissed by Brijesh Sharma in the 17th over, having scored 84 runs. Following his wicket, GT crossed the 200-run mark, reaching 204/3 in 18 overs.

Late Surge by Sundar

After Gill's exit, Washington Sundar took control, finishing with an unbeaten 37 runs. Rahul Tewatia also contributed with a quick 14 runs off just four balls, helping GT conclude their innings at a commanding 229/4.
