During the post-match press conference, Hayden expressed his disappointment, stating, "As a batting coach, I expect our margins to be a lot smaller than 100 runs. That scorecard is unacceptable for our batting unit. We have talented players who need to adopt a better mindset and seize their opportunities. We must improve significantly from today's performance, which was quite poor."

Hayden criticized the bowling performance in the final overs, calling it a 'horror story'. He remarked, "Allowing 73 runs in the last four overs is unacceptable for world-class players. Our bowling lineup must reflect on this performance, as key players like Prasidh have repeatedly conceded significant runs in their overs due to execution issues."
Rabada's Standout Performance
Kagiso Rabada emerged as one of GT's top performers, taking three wickets for 33 runs in his four overs. Hayden commended Rabada, stating, "He had an exceptional day and is performing well in the tournament. His pace consistently exceeds 140 km/h, and he is hitting the right areas, which is crucial for our success."
Gujarat's Top-Order Collapse
In response, Gujarat Titans struggled significantly, suffering a top-order collapse that saw them lose Sai Sudharsan for a golden duck and fall to 45/3 within six overs. The innings deteriorated further as Ashwani Kumar (4/24), Mitchell Santner (2/16), and AM Ghazanfar (2/17) dismantled the batting lineup, ultimately bowling Gujarat out for just 100 runs.
Middle Order Exposed
Hayden also pointed out the vulnerabilities in GT's middle order, emphasizing the need for top-order batsmen to face more deliveries. He concluded, "The middle order was undoubtedly exposed today. When they come in during the powerplay, it indicates deep trouble. You can't win from that position, especially in a chase, but you can certainly lose it, and we lost it in the power play."
