Gujarat Titans' Focus on Winning

Sai Sudharsan, the opener for Gujarat Titans (GT), emphasized that the team's priority is to play quality cricket and secure victories rather than focusing on achieving large margins for Net Run Rate (NRR). Their goal is to finish among the top two teams in the ongoing IPL 2026 season.

Having already qualified for the IPL 2026 playoffs, GT is set to face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Ahmedabad on Thursday. In a pre-match press conference, Sudharsan highlighted that their immediate focus is on maintaining consistency and executing their game plan rather than worrying about qualification scenarios.

Thoughts on Scoring 300 Runs

Regarding the potential for teams to score 300 runs in the IPL, Sudharsan noted that the playing conditions and the performance of both batters and bowlers significantly influence such high scores, making them challenging under current circumstances.

He stated, "The wickets have not been particularly conducive for batting, which makes scoring 300 runs difficult. For a batting unit to achieve this, every player must perform exceptionally well from the start. Additionally, the bowling team must also perform poorly for such a score to be possible."

Looking Forward to a Fresh Start

As GT prepares for the match against CSK, Sudharsan reflected on their previous loss to Kolkata Knight Riders, emphasizing the importance of starting fresh and learning from past experiences.

"We are not dwelling on past games; instead, we are focusing on building confidence and understanding how our team operates. We aim to approach this game with a clean slate, utilizing our learnings to maximize our chances of winning," he added.
