Court Operations Halted Due to Security Concerns

The Gujarat High Court ceased its operations after lunch on June 9, following the receipt of an anonymous bomb threat via email. A notice issued by the Registrar General indicated that due to unavoidable circumstances, the decision was made to suspend court activities after 1:45 PM. The notice requested that courts inform lawyers that no proceedings would take place post-lunch and urged everyone to vacate the premises promptly, as a security sweep of the entire court complex was necessary.


In response to the threat, security measures were heightened, with court entrances sealed off. Bomb disposal units, along with dog squads and police personnel, were deployed within the high court premises. Following the bomb threat, law enforcement acted swiftly. According to reports, police teams arrived at the court complex to conduct thorough searches. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Safeen Hasan, is overseeing the situation while officials work to trace the source of the threatening email.
