Groom's Drug Use Disrupts Wedding Ceremony, Leads to Police Involvement
Wedding Chaos Due to Groom's Behavior
Recently, a wedding was thrown into disarray when the groom was found under the influence of drugs just before the ceremony. During the garland exchange, friends caught him using substances in secret.
This incident led to a significant uproar at the wedding, resulting in the procession being sent back without the bride. Following complaints from the bride's family, the police have initiated an investigation against the groom, his brother, sister, and uncle.
The bride's mother revealed that they had booked a banquet hall for ₹2.5 lakh and arranged meals for approximately 450 guests. The groom arrived with the procession and, according to tradition, was presented with a gold chain, a gold ring, a smart watch, and ₹51,000. Preparations for the garland exchange were underway when the groom suddenly went missing.
Hiding Behind the Stage with Friends
Upon searching for him, it was discovered that he was hiding behind the stage with friends, consuming drugs. When questioned, he attempted to excuse himself by claiming he needed to go to the washroom. His behavior indicated he was under the influence. The garland exchange proceeded, but as preparations for the vows began, he again retreated to consume more drugs.
Groom Caught Using Drugs in the Washroom
When confronted, he insisted on going to the washroom, raising suspicions that he was using drugs there. The bride's family followed him and confirmed he was indeed using drugs in the washroom. This revelation caused further chaos at the wedding, leading the bride's family to refuse to proceed with the marriage. A physical altercation ensued between the families.
Allegations of Dowry Demands
The police were notified of the situation. The bride's family accused the groom's side of demanding ₹10 lakh as dowry. The procession returned without the bride, and the bride's mother mentioned that they had borrowed ₹15 lakh for the wedding, resulting in significant financial loss. Both she and her daughter are now facing emotional distress.
