Greta Thunberg Deported from Israel After Naval Seizure of Aid Ship

Greta Thunberg's Departure from Israel
Jerusalem: Activist Greta Thunberg is being expelled from Israel, as confirmed by the Foreign Ministry and a legal organization advocating for her rights. This follows the seizure of the Gaza-bound vessel she was aboard by the Israeli military.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry posted on X, sharing an image of Thunberg on a flight, stating, "Greta Thunberg is leaving Israel on a flight to France."
Adalah, the legal rights group representing Thunberg and other activists, reported that she, along with two fellow activists and a journalist, consented to their deportation from Israel. Meanwhile, other activists who declined deportation are currently detained, with their cases pending review by Israeli authorities.
Thunberg was among 12 individuals on the Madleen, a ship intended to deliver aid to the war-affected population in Gaza.
Israeli naval forces intercepted the vessel early Monday, approximately 200 kilometers from Gaza's coastline, as stated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the organization behind the mission.
The ship, escorted by the Israeli navy, reached the port of Ashdod on Monday evening, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The activists aimed to highlight the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, while Israel maintains that such vessels breach its naval blockade.
The Foreign Ministry of Israel characterized the expedition as a publicity stunt, remarking on social media that the "selfie yacht" of the "celebrities" is safely arriving at Israel's shores.
