Governor K T Parnaik Advocates for Peace and Development in Arunachal Pradesh's Eastern Districts
Call for Unity and Compassion in Addressing Security Challenges
Itanagar, July 27: Governor K T Parnaik of Arunachal Pradesh has emphasized the need for a unified and compassionate strategy to tackle the security and development issues plaguing the insurgency-affected districts of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding.
During a high-level security review meeting held in Namsai on Saturday evening, Parnaik expressed significant concern regarding the persistent challenges that hinder development in these areas.
He pointed out that despite the earnest efforts from both state and central governments, the region's advancement is still obstructed by insurgency-related activities and social unrest, as stated in an official release.
Stressing the necessity for enduring peace, the governor highlighted the importance of dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration among all parties involved.
He called upon elected officials, security forces, and government representatives to unite with a common goal to address the longstanding issues.
Parnaik remarked, "Only through a spirit of unity and shared objectives can we tackle these challenges and create a foundation for lasting peace and inclusive growth."
Additionally, the governor underscored the critical role of law enforcement in this endeavor, advocating for a more humane and community-focused approach.
He urged the establishment of a police force that is not only effective but also approachable, empathetic, and committed to protecting the rights and dignity of marginalized communities.
The meeting saw participation from prominent state leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte, cabinet ministers Gabriel D Wangsu and Wangki Lowang, along with MLAs and senior administrative and police officials from the eastern region.
The governor's statements reflect a renewed commitment to collaborative governance and peace-building in a region historically affected by conflict.
