Government's Response to NEET Exam Protests
In light of ongoing protests by the 'Cockroach People's Party' regarding irregularities in the NEET examination, Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated on Thursday that the central government remains committed to dialogue. He emphasized that formal invitations have been extended multiple times to student representatives for discussions. Speaking to a news agency about the youth-led movement, Singh asserted that the government is not allowing its 'prestige' to hinder the path to solutions. He mentioned that since yesterday afternoon, four formal proposals have been sent to their representatives for discussions. This is an open invitation to all our young friends; the government is ready to discuss all issues at your convenience and timing.
Highlighting the government's flexible stance, Singh, who also serves as a Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, stated, 'We do not raise questions of prestige. Both Union Health Minister JP Nadda and I will be available for discussions. Gradually, we will move towards solutions through dialogue.'
The minister also offered the protesters the option to choose the venue for the proposed meeting to ensure a comfortable environment for discussions. He noted that the talks could take place at JP Nadda's office or his residence. This initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts for the benefit of students. 'I humbly appeal to all of you to come and engage in dialogue,' he added. Singh referenced the Prime Minister's decision to establish fast-track courts for cases related to paper leaks and invited students to discuss their demands with the government.
Singh remarked, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very sensitive to this issue. As he stated this morning, he prioritizes the interests of the youth above all. Inspired by this, he decided that all cases involving those found guilty and responsible for paper leaks will be heard in fast-track courts to ensure swift decisions and decisive actions. This is part of the continuous steps being taken by the government to safeguard the interests and welfare of students. Therefore, I once again humbly request you to come, sit down, and engage in sincere efforts to resolve this situation.'
