Government Response to Gurugram Tragedy
In the aftermath of a tragic incident at a construction site in Gurugram on Monday, the government has stepped in to offer significant support to the affected families. On Thursday, Union Minister Sanjay Seth visited Gurugram to meet with the families of the seven workers who lost their lives, presenting them with checks of ₹20 lakh each.
Additional Compensation for Victims' Families
Ajay Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, announced that each family would receive an additional ₹4 lakh from the Haryana government's Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) welfare fund, along with ₹15 lakh under the Workers' Compensation Act. This means that each family will receive a total of approximately ₹40 lakh in financial assistance. Among the deceased, six were from Jharkhand, while one hailed from Rajasthan. The incident occurred on Monday evening in the village of Sidharavali in Gurugram district.
