In the national capital, the government is considering convening a meeting with floor leaders to discuss the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak issue amidst ongoing protests by youth. Sources indicate that the government is reaching out to these leaders, emphasizing that while discussions are welcome, there should be no preconditions such as resignations. Earlier today, Union Health Minister JP Nadda mentioned that he is open to meeting with leaders of the 'Cockroach People's Party' (CJP) either at his official residence or office. This dialogue comes as protests led by the CJP demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a situation that has impacted millions of students across the country.

Prime Minister's Commitment to Youth Welfare

Prime Minister Modi recently posted on social media, asserting that nothing is more important than the welfare and future of the nation's youth. He announced the establishment of fast-track courts to ensure swift and severe punishment for those involved in the paper leak. The Prime Minister stated that necessary measures are being taken to protect the interests of students, emphasizing that anyone attempting to jeopardize their future will not be spared.

Ongoing Protests and Demands

This marks the Prime Minister's first response to the ongoing protests, which have seen significant mobilization in Delhi and other cities, including a call for a 'March to Parliament' on July 20 by activists. The activists have outlined three demands to conclude their movement. Meanwhile, CJP spokesperson Sourav Das has labeled the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as non-negotiable, stating that protests will persist until this demand is met. He reiterated that the protests will continue for as long as necessary.
