New Delhi. The central government announced on Saturday that over 5.4 million LPG cylinders were distributed the previous day. Despite ongoing conflicts in West Asia affecting supply chains, the delivery of domestic LPG cylinders continues to operate smoothly.
According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, there is no shortage at LPG distribution centers, and online bookings for LPG cylinders have surged by 91 percent. To prevent discrepancies at the distribution level, the implementation of Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) has increased from 53 percent in February 2026 to 84 percent now.
The ministry further stated that all refineries are functioning at full capacity, with ample crude oil reserves available. An official statement noted, 'Sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel are being maintained in the country. Domestic LPG production has been ramped up to meet local consumption needs.'
Consumers are receiving 100 percent of their domestic PNG and CNG supplies for transportation. Industrial and commercial users are getting 80 percent of their average consumption needs met.
The statement also highlighted ongoing raids in states and union territories to curb hoarding and black marketing of LPG. So far, approximately 2,900 raids have been conducted, with over 1,700 cylinders seized on Friday alone.
Additionally, more than 390 show-cause notices have been issued to LPG distributors. Meanwhile, the government has reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel by ₹10 per liter.
