Gorakhpur Link Expressway Inauguration Rescheduled to June 20

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway's inauguration has been postponed to June 20, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath set to address events in Azamgarh and Gorakhpur. The change in schedule comes as preparations continue for the significant event, which will take place on the expressway itself due to potential rain. Local authorities are making arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit to pay tribute to a late BJP leader. This expressway is crucial for enhancing connectivity in the region, linking it with the Purvanchal Expressway.

Inauguration Details of Gorakhpur Link Expressway

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway, which connects with the Purvanchal Expressway, is now set to be inaugurated on June 20. Initially planned for June 17, the date has been adjusted, although the overall schedule remains unchanged. The inauguration will take place at two venues: Salarpur in Azamgarh and Jaitpur, located near the Bhagwanpur toll plaza in Gorakhpur, as reported by local media.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to address gatherings at both locations. Due to potential rain, the event in Gorakhpur will occur directly on the expressway.

On Monday, the Chief Minister is anticipated to visit Gorakhpur to pay respects to the late BJP leader Devesh Srivastava, with local authorities already making arrangements for this visit.

A government team conducted site inspections on June 11, confirming that preparations were underway. However, the announcement of the date change came on Saturday. Following this, District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh convened a meeting with officials to ensure that all preparations are completed on time.

On the day of the inauguration, the Chief Minister will first speak in Azamgarh before traveling approximately 90 kilometers along the expressway to address the gathering in Gorakhpur.
