Gold and Silver Prices Fluctuate on April 17 Amid Market Movements
Market Overview for Gold and Silver Prices
On April 17, gold and silver prices experienced fluctuations during early trading on the MCX. The market was active amid potential signs of a peace agreement between the U.S. and Iran. Despite this, a weaker dollar and declining crude oil prices provided support for gold. The June futures for MCX gold traded down by 0.04% at ₹1,53,086 per 10 grams, while the May contract for MCX silver rose by 0.34% to ₹2,49,469 per kilogram.
Gold Prices Continue to Rise
In the international market, gold prices are on track for their fourth consecutive weekly increase. Expectations of a U.S.-Iran peace deal have eased inflation concerns and fears of rising interest rates. The U.S. dollar has shown a downward trend for the second week in a row, reaching a six-week low in the previous session. A weaker dollar makes gold cheaper for foreign buyers. The market anticipates that the U.S. Federal Reserve will not change interest rates this month.
