Goalpara District Launches Dharti Aaba Abhiyan for Tribal Awareness
Introduction to Dharti Aaba Abhiyan
Goalpara, May 31: The district administration has unveiled the 'Dharti Aaba Abhiyan', a nationwide initiative aimed at raising awareness among tribal communities, in line with the directives from the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. This campaign is set to take place from June 15 to June 30 across the Goalpara district.
Implementation Strategy
District Commissioner Khanindra Choudhury has communicated with the heads of all pertinent departments to ensure the campaign is executed smoothly within their areas of responsibility.
Collaborative Efforts
Choudhury emphasized that the Dharti Aaba Abhiyan is a joint effort involving several government sectors, including panchayat and rural development, health and family welfare, agriculture, social welfare, food distribution, and the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC). These departments will work together to ensure the campaign reaches all eligible tribal populations.
Community Engagement Activities
The administration plans to hold Gram Sabhas in tribal villages to inform communities about their constitutional rights, government welfare programs, and available services.
People-Centric Initiatives
The Dharti Aaba Abhiyan will include various activities focused on the community, such as free health check-up camps organized by the health department, informational sessions on agricultural schemes and modern farming techniques, awareness programs about banking services and financial inclusion, assistance with obtaining LPG connections through initiatives like Ujjwala Yojana, promotion of micro-enterprises, and exhibitions of local goods and traditional crafts. Additionally, there will be demonstrations and training on sustainable agricultural practices.
Goals of the Campaign
The primary objective of the Abhiyan is to enhance access to government schemes, foster community involvement, and promote inclusive development for the tribal communities in Goalpara district.
