Global Reactions to India's Military Strikes in Pakistan Following Terror Attack

International Responses to India's Military Action
Shortly after India executed military strikes targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, U.S. President expressed his hope for a swift resolution to the escalating tensions. He remarked, “It’s unfortunate, we just learned about it,” during a press briefing at the White House, acknowledging the long-standing conflict between the two nations.
Trump further stated, “I just hope it ends very quickly.”
On social media, U.S. Secretary of State echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for both Indian and Pakistani leaders to work towards a peaceful resolution.
The Indian Air Force's Operation Sindoor targeted nine locations in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, as confirmed by India's Ministry of Defence. The ministry emphasized that their actions were deliberate and restrained, ensuring no military facilities in Pakistan were affected.
“We are committed to holding accountable those responsible for the attack,” the ministry added.
In light of these developments, the UN Secretary-General urged both nations to practice maximum restraint, stating that the world cannot afford a confrontation between India and Pakistan.
China labeled India's military actions as regrettable and expressed concern over the situation, calling for both countries to prioritize peace and stability.
Japan also voiced its worries, cautioning that the strikes could provoke retaliation and escalate into a broader conflict, urging both nations to engage in dialogue.
The United Arab Emirates called for de-escalation and emphasized the importance of dialogue to prevent military escalation in the region.
Israel's Ambassador to India expressed support for India's right to self-defense, condemning terrorism.
Conversely, Pakistan's foreign ministry reported that Turkey expressed solidarity with Pakistan following the strikes, discussing regional security concerns with Pakistani officials.
In the aftermath of the strikes, the Indian Army's public information directorate stated that justice had been served. However, Pakistan's military reported civilian casualties, claiming that the strikes targeted civilian infrastructure.
Pakistani Prime Minister asserted that Islamabad has the right to respond decisively, indicating that a strong response is forthcoming.
The terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily targeting tourists based on their religion.
Following the attack, both nations engaged in diplomatic exchanges, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and expelling diplomats, while Pakistan has reportedly violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control.
