Sharma encouraged students to expand their career horizons in a world that is rapidly evolving. He pointed out the increasing demand for professionals in fields like Yoga and psychology, highlighting the shifting trends in global career opportunities.
He emphasized that students pursuing science do not have to limit themselves to becoming engineers or doctors, nor should those in arts and commerce feel confined to traditional roles. “The advent of Artificial Intelligence has revolutionized the job market,” Sharma stated, urging students to adapt their skills to align with emerging technologies and future-oriented careers.
During the event, Sharma conducted a demonstration lecture, illustrating the intersection of data, technology, and finance in today’s job landscape. With nearly two decades of international experience, including a decade at PwC, he is recognized as a visionary leader in finance, specializing in finance data architecture, financial management, analytics, automation, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
His career has taken him across major global markets, including India, the UK, Germany, the USA, and APAC. Sharma has spearheaded numerous impactful international projects, including assignments in London and Hamburg, where he managed financial conversions, balance sheet substantiation, and business process transitions across various countries. He has also played a pivotal role in cloud migration projects, overseeing large teams and complex financial data systems while ensuring compliance and governance.
Sharma underscored the necessity of adaptability in the modern workforce, sharing insights on how automation, system migration, and data analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, QlikView, and Oracle have enhanced decision-making efficiency in global organizations. His efforts have led to significant advancements, including reduced reporting complexity, improved financial accuracy, and substantial time savings through automation.
The session was highly interactive, with students engaging enthusiastically and gaining valuable insights into global career paths, essential skills for the future, and the transformative role of technology.
